Stone Ridge is seeking a Long Term Substitute PreKindergarten Teacher to begin on December 9, 2019 and conclude on June 3, 2020.

The Long Term Substitute PreKindergarten Teacher is responsible for co-teaching all academic subjects for PreKindergarten students in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education. Working closely with colleagues in the Lower School, s/he creates and updates plans for content and continuity of curriculum in line with both Project Approach and Creative Curriculum. S/he actively plans with the full time classroom teacher, in advance of her leave; likewise, the Long Term Substitute PreKindergarten Teacher collaborates with Learning Strategists and the Lower School Educational Technologist to support all students. The Long Term Substitute PreKindergarten Teacher attends all faculty and employee meetings. S/he maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports, report cards, and responses to parents’ inquiries.

The ideal candidate has experience teaching in independent, public, charter, and/or Catholic schools and possesses a Bachelor’s in a relevant field. S/he demonstrates genuine affection for children, a record of successful teaching at this age level, a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, and experience with integrating appropriate educational technologies into the teaching environment. S/he demonstrates communication, organization, creativity, and flexibility.
