The Steward School seeks an enthusiastic and committed Upper School Spanish teacher for a long term temporary assignment, February - April 2020. This is a full-time, non-benefited position reporting to the Director of Upper School.
Teach five sections of Upper School Spanish (levels II-AP).
The preferred candidate will be able to :
Plan and deliver creative and effective instruction that develops critical thinking skills.
Deliver each class in the target language to create a full classroom immersion experience.
Utilize technology to facilitate instruction.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Post and maintain curriculum, syllabi, and grades.
Demonstrate familiarity with differential learning instruction.
This position includes other duties as assigned by the Director of Upper School.
Bachelor’s degree and major concentration in Spanish and/or Education is required.
The preferred candidate will have:
A native or near native language proficiency.
Master’s degree and/or Commonwealth of Virginia certification.
Relevant classroom experience including Upper School Spanish instruction;
Technological proficiency in the classroom including Google Educational apps, interactive whiteboards, and electronic grade books.
