Direct Middle School and Upper School choirs and co-direct the Upper School Chamber Singers. Foster choral experiences that connect course content to ensemble learning. Provide a spirit of inquiry, innovation, and a passion for learning in all areas of music study.
Develop a choral curriculum for skill, musicianship and content for Middle School and Upper School choirs.
Conduct choral rehearsals and instruct members on their individual parts.
Lead choral groups in regular and special performances for school program, community activities and festivals
Commitment to cultural diversity throughout Choral literature
Share new modes of learning on mobile devices and other new technologies as part of the ensemble experience.
Connect the study of music to other disciplines when possible
Support of Departmental concerts and activities outside of the school day
Pianist for assemblies, recitals and concerts as needed.
Maintain student attendance records, grades, and written feedback on graded assignments
Collaborate with Arts’ teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of the music program.
Maintain contact with students and parents with regular communication and regularly scheduled evaluations
A minimum of two years of experience teaching choral music.
Flexibility and creativity in crafting appropriate challenges for a range of abilities within each class.
Personal vocal modeling skills, and solid vocal pedagogy for training young singers.
Strong accompaniment skills on piano.
Ability to use iPads and other technologies in the classroom.
Bachelor of Music Education preferred or Bachelor of Music with Conducting Concentration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
