Oak Hill School seeks an interim teacher for a self-contained second grade classroom. This faculty member will join a nurturing, Christian community committed to the School’s mission and vision for building a diverse and inclusive environment where all children learn, grow, and thrive. The teacher will be responsible for instructing students during the absence of the regular teacher from January 6, 2020 M – May 20, 2020.
Work collaboratively with grade level team in academic planning.
Instruct the students and facilitate their learning.
Maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ learning.
Maintain established routines and classroom procedures.
Communicate openly with parents to provide information about academic and behavior progress.
Ensure the safety of students at all times.
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in education preferred
The preferred candidate will have teaching experience in a lower school environment.
Experience in teaching Reading Workshop, Writing Workshop, and/or Singapore Math is desired.
