We recently created the position of Campaign Gift Officer in order to attract an advancement professional with demonstrated success in gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Officer will support the execution of LHP’s exciting new educational vision represented in the 50th anniversary campaign. He/she will work closely with the Vice President of Advancement, the Campaign Cabinet, and the development team to design and advance the campaign plan. The Officer will clearly communicate the school’s mission, support and energize volunteer leadership, and persuade prospects to invest in the campaign’s compelling case for support. An integral member of the Advancement team, he/she will work collaboratively and independently in efforts to build relationships, solicit, and close gifts. The Officer will manage a portfolio of 75-100 major gift prospects and donors for the campaign.
Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through their relationship with LHP and their gifts to campaign.
Develop and execute a solicitation plan for major gift prospects and donors identified and prioritized by the campaign team.
Help design and execute a communications timeline for the campaign
In collaboration with the VP of Advancement, plan and create campaign collateral materials for print, email, and web.
Utilize Raisers Edge donor database and wealth screening tools and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects (moves management model).
Track campaign progress using established metrics, and provide weekly reports to VP of Advancement and Campaign Cabinet as needed for preparation and reporting at campaign meetings. Analyze results and develop strategies in order to secure gifts, meet goals, and maximize campaign success.
Participate in regular prospecting meetings and collaborate with development team and Campaign Cabinet to manage relationships and the solicitation calendar.
Support fellow development staff, campaign volunteers, and trustees in their efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors, including creating prospect profiles and prospect management reports.
Write personalized, timely, and thoughtful communications to prospects and donors.
Acknowledge donors through public and private recognition means as part of stewardship efforts.
Build and strengthen relationships between LHP and identified constituents in all phases of the donor cycle.
Collaborate with campus partners including the Lake Highland Parent Association, Athletic Department, Booster Club, Arts League, and academic divisions on campaign events and strategies.
Attend school functions and events as needed/assigned.
Participate in other duties as assigned by the VP of Advancement and school leadership.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is a plus.
Five or more years successful experience in major gift or campaign fundraising, preferably in independent schools and/or higher education.
Outstanding interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Superb organization and project management skills, with the ability to create long-term strategies and execute on short term deliverables.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable development database software.
Proven success in networking, relationship building, soliciting and closing major gifts, and stewardship. Sales skills may also be considered qualifying experience.
Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google’s G-Suite.
