Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking personnel to help in their Extended Day Program and in their Substitute Teacher program.
Now in its 34th year, Washington Episcopal School is an independent, co-educational school for students from Nursery through Grade 8. WES believes that learning should be joyful, because academic excellence and happy children belong together. The School represents a diverse community, where the uniqueness of each member of the school is celebrated. The WES goal is to educate the whole child in order to prepare each graduate to become a citizen of the world.
The Extended Day program serves students in grades Nursery-8 from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. every day except Friday when the student hours are 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. The mission of the program is to provide a safe environment in which students in Nursery through Grade 8 spend time outside on the playground, enjoy snacks and activities, and work on school assignments. Extended Day personnel are paid by the hour. Qualified candidates will possess a High School diploma and will have demonstrated a successful experience working with children.
WES has immediate openings for substitute teachers in Nursery through Grade 8. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience is required. Work with the Responsive Classroom approach is a plus. Substitute teachers are paid based on a half or full day of coverage.
