Oxford Academy is currently looking to hire an English and History teacher who will serve as a member of our residential faculty. A successful applicant must be outgoing, personable, and prepared to act as a model community member while being a part of a team supervising a dorm of 20 high school boys. Oxford is a small all-boys boarding school where teachers work with grades 8-PG. The "Oxford Method" involves individualized instruction and curriculum to best educate our diverse student body. This method is implemented in a one-to-one classroom environment. A successful applicant will be able to deliver English instruction ranging from intermediate ELL instruction to typical high school English classes and world and U.S. history instruction. Individuals with experience working with teenagers in academic as well as non-academic capacities such as athletic or camp settings are encouraged to apply. This position is open to all applicants. This position could start as early as December 2019 or January 2020.
This is a residential position that could involve coaching for 1-2 seasons depending on placement. Extensive experience in English and history courses as a student or instructor can be acceptable in place of a degree in the field.
