Teach five Upper School Latin classes daily and maintain assignments and grades for students
Be available to students seeking extra help daily during Office Hours (3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Support the efforts of vertical team planning and curriculum alignment
Attend all required Department, Upper School Division, and All Staff meetings
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with parents, colleagues, staff, and administration
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Work in a rigorous academic environment dealing with a wide variety of physical and mental challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
Work primarily in a traditional classroom setting and intermittently in outside weather conditions
Must be able to perform repetitious movements for extended periods of time, i.e. standing, bending, reaching, stooping, etc.
The ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
B.A./B.S. in related field required; M.A./M.S. in related field preferred
Successful Upper School Latin teaching experience in a public or private school setting
Passion for subject matter and for working with bright, motivated Upper School students in a rigorous college-preparatory environment
Experience with and certification for AP Latin course and exam preferred
Possess excellent classroom management skills in order to facilitate a positive academic environment
Demonstrated initiative and skills in the following areas: organizational skills, evidence of in-depth lesson plan development, and evidence of curriculum development
