MONITORING, EVALUATION AND LEARNING (MEL) ASSOCIATE , Office of Experiential Learning (OEL)-D-Lab , to contribute to D-Lab (60% time) and OEL's (40% time) efforts to assess the outcomes of their programs and communicate these lessons internally and externally. This role encompasses MEL framework design; data collection, analysis, and management; and reflection and communication. Will support a culture of data-driven decision-making, adaptive management, and programmatic integrity; manage the MEL for a portfolio of D-Lab projects, overseeing the design, collection, analysis, and communication of project results; and conduct data gathering and analysis for OEL, identifying competencies, understanding student perspectives, mapping existing change-making offerings, and benchmarking against peer institutions.
D-Lab , which sits within OEL, works with people worldwide to develop and advance collaborative approaches and practical solutions to global poverty. The office's overarching goals are to connect, support, and enhance existing experiential learning to optimize MIT students' educational benefits; and to expand, innovate, and integrate experiential learning to transform education at MIT.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelors' degree; at least two years' experience implementing MEL efforts at a nonprofit, educational institution, or other impact-focused organization; skill with MEL frameworks, instrument design, data collection, and data analysis techniques; strong graphic design and data visualization skills; ability to distill complex data into clearly communicated findings for diverse stakeholders; excellent organizational, critical thinking, collaboration, writing, and oral communication skills; attention to detail; flexibility; willingness to collaborate on and jump into the work; and ability to work with a highly diverse student population and community of stakeholders.
