Trinity Preparatory School, a coeducational school for 845 students in grades 6 through 12 in Winter Park, FL, seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic full-time instructor and advisor to teach science to students in grades 6 to 8 (5 sections). The middle school science curriculum is an integrated program where faculty at each grade level collaborate effectively to prepare students for our upper school program. To be successful, candidates must have appropriate knowledge of biology, chemistry and physics, and comfortably collaborate with colleagues on a grade-level team and as a member of the science department.
Candidates must have the desire and ability to develop meaningful and productive relationships with highly motivated students from diverse backgrounds. This teacher and advisor should plan to be an integral component of the students' lives, in and out of the classroom, and to collaborate with colleagues on grade-level teams and as a member of the Science Department. The advisory role serves as the first point of contact for parents, and they strengthen the relationship between the school and family.
Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the sciences or science education and be comfortable with inquiry-based approaches to learning. Trinity Prep has a one-to-one laptop program, and students use technology in a variety of ways in every discipline. Using our learning management system Canvas and participating in the advisory program are required professional standards. In addition to teaching and advising, Trinity faculty lead a significant out-of-the-classroom activities like coaching a sport or a competitive academic team.
