The Executive Assistant will support the office of the Senior Associate Dean for Penn Engineering and assist with school-wide initiatives, programming, and administrative management responsibilities.
The Executive Assistant will support the office of the Senior Associate Dean for Penn Engineering and assist with school-wide initiatives, programming, and administrative management responsibilities. Assist Senior Associate Dean in identifying and organizing a variety of strategic initiatives in the school and providing faculty oversight of several organizational units within the school, examples include facilities, budget, academic programming, and student support initiatives. Develop and manage complex organizational programs or projects through to execution to ensure compliance, adherence to schedule, and scope. Confer with personnel in the Dean's office and other senior school leadership to identify optimal partnerships with faculty inside and outside the school. Prepare project status updates and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends on issues related to engineering education and best practices at peer institutions. Work with the Senior Associate Dean, other Associate Deans in SEAS, and appropriate senior school staff to manage workshops/events for students, faculty, and staff in the school. In addition, draft and handle correspondence associated with the office, convene committee meetings, draft agendas, record minutes for meetings, and suggest follow up actions for meetings associated with the office; prepare materials for meetings; handle calendar requests and maintain calendar.
Bachelorâ™s degree and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in a university setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be highly self-motivated, well organized, flexible, able to maintain and prioritize many concurrent projects, and able to communicate and interact effectively with individuals at every level within the School and various departments elsewhere in the University and externally on behalf of the Sr. Associate Deanâ™s office. Demonstrated high degree of sound judgment and discretion.
