The LeaderShop empowers youth to become community-minded individuals through diverse programs that foster confidence, knowledge and leadership.
Plan, implement and evaluate programs of The LeaderShop
Develop and sustain positive relationships with elementary, junior high and high school-aged youth in the agency’s service area
Provide support for young people and families in the agency’s service area
Encourage youth involvement in The LeaderShop programs
Establish and maintain working relationships with institutions in Lyons and southern Proviso Townships – including schools, social service agencies, police departments, civic groups, etc.
Assist with other programs, activities, and events as requested
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Direct Service Responsibilities
Participate as a staff leader in the recruitment, planning, implementation and evaluation of our leadership development programs
Lead, plan and/or implement a Junior High or High School programs as assigned (This may include but is not limited to: Junior High Leadership Program, High School Leadership Program, Youth Ignited peer group, Watch My Feet performance group, Teen Leaders, etc.)
Lead, plan and implement an After School Homework Program as requested for local elementary and/or junior high students if assigned
Serve as the lead of program department events such as conferences, volunteer opportunities, service trips and social/recreational events as requested
Actively build and maintain relationships with youth
Provide transportation to and from programs, for students in need, using agency vehicles
Supervise students who must complete school, court and police mandated community service, if assigned
Develop and follow annual program plans in order to reach intended outcomes and program goals
Support efforts to reach program department and agency-wide goals
Serve as a staff leader and primary contact for high schools, junior highs, and elementary schools, as assigned
Achieve program income goals while not exceeding the expense budget
Provide support services to youth and families when needed
Retain accurate records and statistics for LeaderShop reports
Manage projects and programs that engage multiple staff, fostering collaboration and openness to new ideas
Lead/assist with other LeaderShop programs and fundraisers as needed
Represent the agency on Board committees and community organizations as requested
Supervise interns, volunteers and program staff, if assigned
Environmental and Working Conditions
Will require travel to schools, agencies and other off-site program destinations in addition to providing transportation for youth when required.
