Education, Certifications and Work-Related Experience: • B.S. or B.A. Degree (Early Childhood preferred) • Must have an EEC certification or child growth & development college courses to apply for EEC certification • Experience working with toddler-aged children and families • EpiPen, CPR and First Aid Certifications required • Teaching experience valued
Instructional Responsibilities • Support the planning, supervision, and implementation of a challenging and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the educational philosophy and policies of PSS, the curriculum’s scope and sequence, and the prescribed student objectives. • Assist in the maintenance of providing a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom, which provides a stimulating learning environment while creating a classroom community in which every student is affirmed. • Create anecdotal records of student progress and conduct assessments as needed • Ensure the health and safety of each student • Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for responding to emergencies • Adhere to PSS discipline policies and implement effective classroom management skills • Exercise effective communication skills with families
Physical Requirements Each employee must have the ability to: • Lift up to 40 lbs. (PSK) • Perform repetitive bending, stretching and stooping • Climb up and down stairs • Work with children on floor • Work outdoors in a variety of weather • Ensure children’s safety with keen visual/ hearing capabilities • Perform light cleaning duties
