The Jewish Community High School of the Bay needs an experienced Jewish Studies teacher to teach a variety of Jewish Studies courses. Our school seeks teachers with broad expertise in Jewish Studies. Our core classes are Bible, Rabbinics, Jewish History and Jewish Thought. We seek teachers who are comfortable teaching text in the original language and in translation and are able to create curriculum.
When you join our Jewish Studies department you will:
teach up to four classes.
have time during the school day to prepare great lessons and give students the individual help they need
be supported by a faculty supervisor, learning specialist, and school counselor to help you focus on your teaching
work alongside colleagues who will both push you to be a better teacher and welcome your help in improving their teaching
work with supportive administrators who encourage innovative teaching, expect professional growth, and embrace research based pedagogy
be directly involved in creating an inclusive and equitable environment toward differentiating your teaching, and honoring the diverse Jewish identities of our students
