Sayre School is seeking a passionate and collaborative educator to join our Health/PE department in a newly established leadership role. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the PK-12 Health curriculum, which includes Human Development and Sexuality in all divisions. As a member of the Wellness Advisory Committee, this individual will work closely with the School Counselor and Physical Education Department Chair in planning and implementing programming focused on the development of healthy bodies, minds, and relationships, and sound decision-making.
The position also entails the teaching of several sections of Physical Education. We are committed to supporting students’ physical abilities and helping them develop positive health habits they can use for the rest of their lives. The Health and Physical Education Teacher will fulfill a critical role in these efforts.
The ideal candidates for this position should possess a degree in Health Education, or an equivalent degree, and 3-5 years teaching experience in both Health and Physical Education. A comfort working with students of all age levels, the ability to encourage and motivate students, and excellent communication skills are all a must.
