We seek to hire a first-grade classroom teacher with a master’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a grade level partner and Lower School team, have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of elementary education, and support the educational program by challenging and engaging students. Ideally, the candidate will be familiar with Singapore math, social and emotional learning, and Reading and Writing Workshop. They would also be able to facilitate differentiated lessons and provide an atmosphere in which children feel safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
LFCDS, located on a 30-acre campus about 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, is a co-educational independent day school serving 400 students from age two through eighth grade. Qualifications and Attributes:
Master’s degree in education, teaching credential or equivalent
A minimum of two years of teaching experience
Ability to collaborate and work with a team
Understanding of differentiated instruction
Affinity and enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children

Demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, innovation, and the ability to manage classroom behavior
