The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, Department of Academic and Faculty Affairs is seeking a Director of Faculty Support and Administration, who is dependable, has a strong work ethic, and excellent critical thinking skills to join the team.Â
The position will work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students, and will work with administrators of various academic programs, including the Masters in Social Work (MSW), Virtual Academic Center (VAC), Master of Science in Nursing â Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) Program, Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Program, as well as the Social Work PhD Program, all of which serve a population of over 3,000 students.Â This position will report to the Executive Vice Dean, and will work closely with the Dean, Senior Business Officer, the Senior Executive Director of Academic Operations, and other program administrators and leaders.Â Â
Directs administrative operations through mangers, supervisors, and professional staff who report to this position
Represents senior administration on formal university and school committees, as needed
Coordinates Schoolâs council elections, including Faculty Council, Curriculum Council, and Research Council
Coordinates annual New Faculty Orientation
Develops, interprets, and oversees implementation of University, School, and academic policies related to faculty and academic support
Budget and Finance:
Directs budget and financial activities for the offices of faculty and academic affairs
Reviews and approves expenditures related to the offices of faculty and academic affairs
Works with Senior Executive Director of Academic Operations and Senior Business Officer on enrollment projections, budget forecasts, and related strategic planning projects
Works with School leadership to evaluate and develop academic programs
Coordinates accreditation visits and stays up to date with accreditation guidelines and standards across all academic programs
Reviews curricular proposals submitted by academic programs within the School
Administrative representative on Schoolâs Curriculum Council
Facilitates data collection and submission of Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Annual Survey
Works with program administrators and departmental human resources to review and record part-time faculty compensation, full-time faculty overloads, and faculty contracts
Supervises staff in faculty and academic affairs, as well as nursing program staff
Supervise and support processes related to full-time and part-time faculty annual performance reviews, recruitment, hiring, and promotion
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masterâs degree preferred; Bachelorâs degree required, with an emphasis or experience in management or organizational policy
5+ years experience working at USC or other higher education institution
Experience with data and academic reporting systems, including Salesforce, Blackboard, Curriculog, Faculty Application Management (FAM), Workday, and Cognos/Business Intelligence
Viable candidates will have a friendly disposition, excellent communication skills, is dependable, a self-starter, and a critical thinker.Â This position demands the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment, with frequent deadline pressures.

Directs faculty support services and operations, supervises staff, and is responsible for implementing program and university policies. Partners with faculty and academic team members to enhance program procedures and operations. Trains, prepares and supports faculty teaching in graduate degree programs. In coordination with faculty committees, guides and executes evaluations, appointments, and reappointments of graduate degree-program faculty. Oversees online course-delivery efforts and documentation processes and procedures. Provides assistance for live synchronous sessions (e.g., instructional guidance, strategic pedagogical support).
