The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks a history teacher beginning in September 2020. We are looking for candidates who will bring experience and enthusiasm to the full range of courses offered by the department, especially those in the area of world history.

There are currently 669 students enrolled in the school. Average class size is 12, student to faculty ratio is 6:1. The school is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan near many museums and Central Park. Students come from throughout New York City, Westchester, and New Jersey.

Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in history or another related field and at least three years of teaching experience at the middle and/or upper school level. At Nightingale-Bamford, the history department collaborates to create curriculum and assessments, so candidates should be ready to work as part of a team. Candidates should be equally passionate about their subject and students and possess a commitment to the best practices of teaching history and ongoing professional development. Founded in 1920, Nightingale-Bamford is an independent school for girls, enrolling 592 students from Kindergarten through Class XII. The schoolhouse consistes of 97,000 square feet with a regulation-size gymnasium, auditorium with computerized sound and lighting systems, state-of-the-art science laboratories, computer rooms and library technology.
