Teach undergraduate and graduate teacher education courses (consistent with academic preparation, and departmental needs) for all Rochester Education programs, at all sites (Rochester and Austin), and at varied times (day, evening, weekend) and delivery methods (online, hybrid, face-to-face).
Advise and be accessible to students which demonstrates contribution to continued student development.
Supervise preservice student teachers and undergraduate clinical experiences.
Develop and maintain a collaborative partnership with key school partners by working closely with the administration to plan guided clinical practices, aligning district and teacher licensing goals and delivery of coursework at district elementary sites.
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance field knowledge.
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve by providing assistance and service to the program, department, college, university and greater community.
Serve on department, college, university and community committees.
Maintain a minimum 24 credit academic year teaching load.
Earned doctorate in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Curriculum and Supervision, or closely related field.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
Candidate must have K-8 teaching experience (public school teaching required).
Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), reading/literacy, curriculum theory and planning, educational psychology, instructional design, and/or formative and summative assessments.
Priority will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Candidates must provide evidence of a commitment to integrating multicultural issues into their teaching.
Priority will be given to candidates who have work experience with historically underserved populations.
Skills/ability to design and integrate technology for enhanced learning and teaching.
