Doane Academy seeks an innovative, enthusiastic, collegial, experienced middle school (grades 6-8) Humanities teacher to join our faculty on a full-time basis. Candidates should be equally passionate about their subject and students, and have particular interest and experience in middle school education. In addition to classroom teaching responsibilities, this position includes academic advising and the potential for overseeing extracurricular middle school activities. Our faculty are expected to contribute to school life outside of the classroom.

Job requirements include the following
Experience with and/or training in teaching middle school English, History, or Humanities courses is required.
Bachelors Degree in English, History, or related field is required.
Masters Degree in English, History or related field is preferred.
Experience with interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning is required.
Enthusiasm for teaching literacy and research skills to middle school students is required.
Experience with inquiry-based approach to learning is required.
Experience with integrating technology into teaching is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with, or experience, teaching in an independent school environment is a plus.
Candidates should have enthusiasm for joining an entrepreneurial, collegial, enthusiastic, innovative, fun group of teaching professionals.
