Westtown School has an immediate opening for a full-time long-term substitute Middle and Upper School Spanish Teacher. We are seeking a dedicated teacher with experience working with children ages eleven to sixteen in developing their love of language learning. This long-term substitute assignment will last through June 5, 2020.
The Middle and Upper School Spanish Teacher will:
Provide progressive, communicative-based instruction in beginning Spanish
Teach three sections of 6th grade Spanish
Teach one section of Upper School Spanish 1
Contribute to building and sustaining an inclusive community and a program which reflects diverse cultures and perspectives
Support all aspects of the Middle School program through active participation in homeroom, lunch, and supervisory duties such as recess duty and study halls
Coach one season of a sport or lead an equivalent assignment
BA degree required, advanced degree preferred
A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant Spanish teaching experience
Experience with and commitment to working with Middle and Upper School students, including understanding of their developmental, social, and academic needs
Strong affinity for the mission of Westtown School and an educational philosophy consistent with the school’s values
