Description: The Deputy Head and Curriculum Coordinator works closely with the Head of Lower School to provide academic program oversight and to support the efficient and timely completion of all administrative tasks within the division. The Deputy assumes certain specifically delegated duties and responsibilities. The Deputy helps the Lower School administrative team and faculty to provide individualized and personal attention to all students and their parents or guardians in keeping with the school's mission.
Reports To: Head of Lower School
Deputy Head Duties:
Communicate with parents and faculty and attend conferences as needed on issues related to academic performance and behavioral concerns.
Meet with individual students to facilitate progress with academic challenges, moderate social struggles and manage behavioral concerns.
Process and resolve student disciplinary matters in consultation with the Division Head.
Attend regular meetings with grade level coordinators, cycle coordinators, student support team, Division Head, and others as needed.
Support the Division Head with the implementation of the faculty supervision program.
Elaborate yearly class schedules and teacher duty schedules.
Manage teacher absences and substitution on a daily basis.
Oversee the development and logistical arrangements for yearly field trips.
Serve on Lower School Admissions Committee
Contribute to the wider life of the school in areas such as special projects, assemblies, field trips and service learning activities, in addition to curriculum nights, open houses, prospective parent meetings, and other school and parent events.
Curriculum Coordinator Duties:
Oversee French and International curriculum delivery and development to ensure One School harmonization and alignment throughout the division.
Liaise with Cycle Coordinators and teachers to revise, develop and evolve a clearly articulated curriculum for the Lower School. Meet consistently with grade level and subject specific teams on a regular basis.
Establish and direct a coherent curriculum review cycle that will ensure continual revision and alignment within the Lower School program.
Provide, coordinate and/or identify, appropriate pedagogical support, development and training to teachers as needed.
Oversee the yearly acquisition of curriculum materials and student supplies.
Lead the review process for adoption of new curriculum materials and programs as necessary.

BA or equivalent in Education (or related field)
Native or near-native proficiency in French and English.
Advanced degree or certification in Administration, Curriculum (or related field)
At least five years full-time teaching and/or school leadership experience
International and/or independent school experience
Possess strong communication skills
Be well versed in current research and best practices in teaching and learning and curricular development
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the application of interactive methodologies and technology integration
Demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, childhood social, emotional and intellectual development within an international school setting
