Greenhills School, an independent school of 530 students in grades 6-12, seeks a qualified and innovative upper school history teacher who is deeply knowledgeable and thoughtful about history and pedagogy. Teachers in the Greenhills History and Social Science Department provide students with rich and meaningful learning experiences that inspire them to be lifelong learners and challenge them to take their places as informed, responsible, engaged citizens of their local, national, and global communities.

Specific responsibilities include teaching four sections of core courses in World History, U.S. History, Government, and/or upper-level electives, as needed, and participating in community life through service in advising and co-curricular programs. Undergraduate degree in history/social studies and/or history/social studies education (or a related field) required, graduate work desired. Proven experience with the age group required, teaching experience at the secondary level preferred. Prior experience teaching Advanced Placement U.S. History and/or Advanced Placement Economics is preferred, but not required.
