St. Anne's-Belfield School seeks a full-time Visual Arts teacher. This position may include a department chair role for a department of five teachers who teach grades 9-12 performing and visual arts. The job includes teaching, advising a group of students, teaching an art Intensive, and directing the wearable arts runway show. The ideal candidate for the role will be one who seeks to stretch and support students with a student-centered approach; who collaborates effectively with the members of the upper school Arts Department, the Arts Boosters and the upper school faculty as a whole; who creates a positive culture around the arts in the Scott Center for Arts and Sciences; and who seeks the opportunity to lead an established and successful arts program. St. Anne's-Belfield also affirms the enduring value of educating the whole child and faculty endeavor, by way of their multiple venues of interaction with students, to deliver on the School's mantra of "Every Child Known Well."
Experience teaching upper school-aged students and a masters degree in fine arts or secondary fine arts education is preferred.
