Our current opening for a middle school humanities teacher calls for an educator interested and experienced in teaching the study of world literature and global history grounded in fundamental reading, writing, and research skills at the middle level.
Core duties of Wildwood teachers include:
Collaborating with colleagues to design instructional materials, projects, and assessments
Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a range of learners
Assessing student mastery of course standards
Utilizing a variety of assessment methods to inform instruction
Providing comprehensive feedback in narrative form twice a year
Communicating proactively and consistently with students and families regarding student growth and development
Wildwood teachers are active participants in the life of the school beyond their classrooms. Additional responsibilities of Wildwood teachers include:
Serve as an advisor, executing Wildwood’s advisory curriculum with an emphasis on social-emotional learning, multicultural skills building and academic oversight
Contribute to the work of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Contribute to the work of school committees, task forces, the Admissions Office
Attend outdoor education trips and student events throughout the year
Provide supervision for lunch, recess, and passing periods
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
BA or higher in English, history, or closely related field of study
Training, demonstrated professional development, or certification in teaching and learning
