The Construction Management (CM) Program in the School of Planning, Design & Construction (SPDC) at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a full-time academic specialist-teaching with continuing appointment beginning in August 2020. This Academic Specialist is non-tenure track full-time teaching position, continual/permanent following two successful probationary reviews at year 2 and 5. This position is an academic year (9-month) position.
Demonstrable ability to teach at the undergraduate level is required in several CM areas including two or more of following: construction methods and materials, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), building information modeling (BIM), real estate development and finance, structural analysis and design, estimating, scheduling, project management, residential construction, building science, sustainable built environment, and infrastructure construction. In addition to teaching, the selected candidate will be expected to provide service to the program and the school which will include alumni and industry relations.
Masters -Construction Management or related field
Minimum qualifications for this position include: 1) A Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering and Management, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; 2) three or more years of U.S. Construction Management experience; and 3) strong communication skills.
Relevant professional licensing or certifications.
