Herndon Children's Center is a non-profit NAEYC accredited organization that provides quality childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years of age. We provide a safe, nurturing, fun family friendly environment in which the children can learn play and grow. Our Infant/toddler programs are growing and we need staff to grow with us. We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team as infant and toddler (assistant) teachers. We are a Monday through Friday facility operating hours are 6:30am until 6:30pm.
Some responsibilities and essential duties of this position are:
Assist with planning lessons and activities, helping to ensure follow Developmentally Appropriate Practices. Assist with planning activities for children based on observable needs, responding to the learning processes of the children. Be flexible in classroom to meet the needs of class or staff.
Write clearly and informatively. Ability to communicate with parents as needed or directed by classroom teacher or administration. Communicate with staff effectively and collaboratively. Be available to meet the needs of the center/children.
Complete professional development training hours per Virginia licensing standards. Seek opportunities for professional growth
High School Diploma/GED plus one year's experience
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college
Preferred CDA Accreditation
Ability to lift 50lbs
