The Advent School, a progressive independent elementary school in downtown Boston, seeks a collaborative, innovative, and enthusiastic teacher for an Early Childhood Center co-teaching position (Pre-Kindergarten).
Early Childhood teachers at The Advent School know their students well and use this knowledge to design and facilitate thematic, student-centered curriculum that combines academic and social-emotional learning. The Early Childhood program, designed specifically to promote our youngest students as advocates of their own learning, is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and rooted in principles of social justice.
The Advent School enrolls 200 students, of which 35% self-identify as students of color. The Advent School is committed to the faculty’s professional growth, especially in regards to anti-bias and diversity work.
The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning, previous experience teaching emergent or project-based units, and an extensive understanding of how to integrate early literacy and numeracy skills into exploration and daily routines.

2+ years of independent/public school teaching or related experience.
An advanced degree is preferred.
