Charleston Day School seeks a Spanish instructor for grades 5-8 beginning on August 1, 2020. Charleston Day School is a coeducational, K-8 school of 255 students, located in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolina. Specific responsibilities: • Responsible for teaching Spanish to grades 5 – 8 (one section per grade) • Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational, hands-on and exciting for the students • Deliver lesson plans in a manner that engages the attention of the students and promotes curiosity • Lead a Middle School Advisory • Partner with colleagues and parents to create a successful educational path for each student
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. • Spanish fluency • Organized, capable and able to multitask • Enthusiastic, joyful and engaged team player • Growth mindset
