Presidio Knolls School is a progressive and innovative Mandarin immersion school in the heart of San Francisco. We are seeking dynamic, passionate educators to help us grow our Middle School.
About Presidio Knolls School
PKS was founded on the idea that a progressive educational model can be combined with rigorous Mandarin immersion to create a vibrant, innovative school where children will thrive in a joyful environment. Founded in 2008, we have grown rapidly and established a unique position in the Bay Area’s independent school community. The progressive philosophy of Presidio Knolls School embraces students as co-collaborators in their education. Our curriculum is project-based and interdisciplinary. Critical to this approach is hands-on, experiential instruction. As such, learning often takes place outside of the classroom. We also offer an extensive travel program; all middle school students complete projects in Asia each school year.
We are searching for a teacher who is passionate abut middle school, loves travel and learning, and sees math in everything. Our students receive an hour of dedicated math instruction each day, and leading these classes is the main responsibility of this job. But we also want math to be a part of what we call our “project block,” a 2+ hour period each day when students are building boats, putting together travel plans for their class journey to Tibet, or designing and opening a museum on the history of Chinese food in America.
