Covenant Preparatory School utilizes Pearson Interactive Science as the basis for our science curriculum. The science teacher will be encouraged to further develop the Covenant Prep science curriculum in collaboration with other veteran teachers to align it with appropriate curriculum standards. Teachers at Covenant Prep are supervised by the Principal and receive monthly formative observations & coaching as well as weekly check-in meetings.
As a small independent school, Covenant Prep requires teachers to play a major role in all aspects of school life beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching responsibilities, all teachers lead an advisory group, run athletics/activities after school, and have supervision duties in common areas during breaks and lunch.
A firm commitment to our mission to teach underserved boys in an urban context.
A bachelor’s degree in a science- or education-related major.
A minimum of two years of classroom experience teaching middle grades (experience with underserved or low-income urban students strongly preferred).
A proven ability to be pro-active in a work environment that values continuous improvement of systems and procedures to better serve students and their families.
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
