Old Trail School in Bath, Ohio is seeking a full-time Elementary Music and Theater teacher for the 2020-21 school year. The successful candidate will bring an ebullient love of music to students from across our school community. Responsibilities will include several sections of general music for Grades K-4, co-directing the Middle School play and musical, and sitting on various faculty committees. Other duties may include coaching a sport, sponsoring a student organization, teaching an elective, or supervising break and recess duties. It is the expectation that the candidate will create and maintain current and detailed lesson plans, provide ongoing communication with parents in person and via software tools used, and be a role model for the School’s core values: Respect, Responsibility, Goodness, and Service.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree with a major in Music Education. Applicants should have a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience, either in the classroom or in non-traditional educational settings (camps, outdoor centers, etc.) Candidates should be able to demonstrate current knowledge of best practices for music education, both within a classroom and in alternative enrichment/support sessions. Candidates with strong piano skills, Orff-Kodaly certification, and/or theater experience are preferred. Perhaps most importantly, applicants should have a love of working with children, in a collaborative and upbeat environment.
