St. Anselm's Abbey School seeks a full-time instructor of Arabic for levels 1-4 (grades 8-11) with a start date of August 2020.
Plan and deliver an engaging and rigorous program of proficiency-focused Arabic instruction at all levels.
Conduct and organize ongoing assessments of student performance using multiple assessment tools, including standardized tests, oral and written performance assessments, informal assessments, homework, and project assessments as appropriate.
Collaborate with other faculty members within the Modern Language Department to ensure consistency and continuity; seek out opportunities for cross-curricular learning working with other members of grade-level teams.
Communicate proactively and regularly with parents, administrators, and other faculty about student progress.
Contribute to the life of the school as a club moderator, advisor, and/or coach.

B.A. in Arabic or related area; advanced degree preferred
2+ years’ experience working with middle and high school students (grades 6-12) and an enthusiasm for this age group
Strong Arabic language skills (ILR 3+)
Experience developing curricula and willingness to create new classroom materials, incorporating technology as appropriate
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
The ability to teach French would be desirable
