St. Edmund’s Academy seeks a dedicated and dynamic teacher with a minimum of 3 years of current experience for PreKindergarten teacher position. The PreKindergarten teacher works collaboratively with a Junior Kindergarten teacher and two Associate Teachers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching language arts, math, science, and social studies, in addition to ‘homeroom’ teacher responsibilities. The PreKindergarten teacher will be responsible for designing curriculum, planning lessons, and working closely with the Director of Early Childhood & Lower School to ensure alignment of the school’s philosophy in curriculum and practices.
Candidates must possess enthusiasm for 21st century pedagogy, be open to change and new ideas, have an outstanding record teaching early childhood or elementary school-aged groups. Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication are expected. The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented and innovative, and have cross-cultural competency, is essential.
Teachers dedicated to meeting the academic and personal needs of the students and collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is required; a Master’s degree preferred.
