Phoenix Country Day School is seeking a full-time faculty member in the area of Upper School History for the 2020-2021 school year. The position requires the ability to teach Freshman and Sophomore level courses titled Ancient World, Modern World, Medieval Empires, and The World since 1945 or Europe since 1945. Other teaching responsibilities may include the opportunity to teach an elective course in an area of expertise. In addition to teaching 4-5 sections, full-time faculty members serve as advisors to groups of 8-10 students. A successful candidate will have experience teaching History in a rigorous academic environment, preferably at the secondary school level and will be enthusiastic about working collaboratively with colleagues. Candidates will be devoted to every student's learning, will have a positive attitude, and will be committed to constantly improving their craft. Candidates will model the qualities that we expect in our students: curiosity, hard work, collaboration, generosity, and integrity.
Highly qualified applicants will hold an advanced degree in History or a related field.
