You will be expected to provide instruction to students in grades Pre-K through 12 while fostering an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment. Responsibilities will include:
Teaching physical education classes with a range of sports and activities
Teaching health and wellness classes to students of all ages
Facilitating play during recess, utilizing Grayson’s innovative Play Lab
Leading after-school athletic activities on a seasonable basis
Contributing to physical education and health curriculum
Supporting school culture and positive behavior
Opportunities for growth and leadership are significant as the school continues to expand in the very near future. This position also has the potential for summer programming at an additional stipend.
YOU MUST HAVE:
A Pennsylvania teaching certificate or private academic certification (may be in process; we will help qualified candidates obtain certification).
Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
An appreciation of both the intellectual and the social-emotional needs of gifted children.
The ability to clearly articulate evaluations and opportunities for our students and school in both written and spoken communication.
IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF:
You have an interest in a diversity of sports and activities, from soccer, frisbee, and basketball to martial arts, archery, and outdoor education.
You have experience working with gifted children.
You have experience in Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions.
You enjoy discussing the meaning of life, the universe, and everything with students of all ages.
