Elementary curriculum promotes inquiry and is rooted in project-based learning. Teachers create integrated thematic units of study that draw out children’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder and help them to develop schema and skills to understand their world. Balanced with projected-based work is the more explicit instruction in areas of math, science, and language arts. This is a co-teaching position, and teachers collaborate in planning and implementing curriculum, and in reflecting on their practice.
