Villa Academy is seeking a Third Grade Teacher to join our dynamic Lower School faculty. We seek enthusiastic, creative, knowledgeable and child-centered instructors. Villa boasts a 30-acre campus with trails to the waterfront, a garden and a greenhouse. This teacher will be responsible for the instruction of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion, and Second Step/Social Skills in a primarily self-contained third grade classroom. Students have specialist teachers for Library, World Language, Music, PE. Art and Technology. A knowledge and love of intermediate students, desire to utilize Villa’s amazing outdoor campus as part of the classroom experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with a grade level partner and the lower school team are desired qualities.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field required; teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements preferred
Successful elementary school teaching experience
Practicing Catholic preferred

Experience teaching Lucy Calkins Units of Study in Reading and Writing, Common Core based Math, and Foss (inquiry-based) Science:

Knowledge and application of instructional technology including document camera, interactive whiteboard and Google apps.
Ability to collaborate and team with colleagues as part of a professional learning community;
Ability to establish and maintain positive partnerships with parent community;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development;
A willingness and enthusiasm for making Villa’s outdoor spaces an integral part of the curriculum and instruction;
