5th/6th Grade Music Teacher (Beginning August 2020)
Lab is seeking a music teacher for the 2020-2021 school year for fifth and sixth grade students. B.A. in Music or Music Education required. Master’s degree in Special Education and/or experience working with students with learning differences ideal. Candidates must hold teacher certification or be willing to complete additional coursework to be certified in the District of Columbia.
Candidate should have the ability to teach students about music literacy, instrument families, and history. Candidates should have proficiency on the piano or keyboard, the ability to teach choral groups, develop student performance skills on instruments and training in the Orff Schulwerk approach to music education.
