Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding science teacher to teach biology and/or chemistry in our Upper School. Above all the school seeks an individual who is an expert in his or her field and who loves to share that expertise with high school students. The primary goal of the science department at Greenwich Academy is to inspire in its students a love of learning and an understanding of and curiosity about the world around them. Faculty members strive to make all courses inquiry-based and experiential, and laboratory work plays an essential role. The science department at GA is a highly collaborative team, and candidates should be eager to work closely with colleagues. A master’s degree in biology, chemistry or a related field is preferred.
Successful candidates will be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment and will be eager to immerse themselves in the school community. A commitment to using a variety of teaching strategies is expected. Candidates should be enthusiastic learners themselves and should be ready to teach and learn in an environment dedicated to thoughtful, ongoing diversity work.
