Ecole Bilingue of Berkeley Middle School seeks a quarter-time math teacher to work with students in grades 6 and 7 starting in the fall of 2020. The teacher will have a small class of 5-8 students, responsible for teaching math in English to the non-French bilingual students at the school. Candidates should have experience teaching math at the Middle School level. Other responsibilities include communication with parents, contribution to narrative student evaluations, and collaboration with the Middle School teaching team.
Teach math as described above
Contribute to written narrative evaluations describing students’ progress in math
Participate in select faculty meetings and committee work
Participate in professional development activities, including faculty in-service and curriculum planning days
Communicate with parents as needed and periodically contribute to division newsletters with updates about math
Attend contracted school functions (e.g., back to school night)
Desired Professional Background:
Three years of classroom teaching experience with Middle School aged students
Bachelor’s degree minimum, ideally in a field requiring math training with a preference for a Masters in Math.
Demonstrates an ability to design curriculum to meet a wide range of learning needs
Proficiency in operating computer programs such as word processing, Google Drive, and Gmail, and interactive whiteboards
Commitment to professionalism and excellence
Commitment to continuous growth and improvement
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
Effective communicator, orally and in writing
Collaborative, flexible, Creative and passionate
Positive and consistent classroom management skills
Compensation & Benefits:
