Island School (ischool.org) seeks a Middle School Math Teacher beginning in the 2020- 21 academic year with a commitment to private education in a college preparatory environment. The full-time position includes teaching five classes, which may include 7 th grade Math Fundamentals, Pre-Algebra and other middle school math/science classes as needed. Island School, an Independent college preparatory day school for students in pre- kindergarten through grade 12. It is located on the island of Kauai, the northernmost inhabited island of the Hawaiian Island chain, which, due to its stunning natural beauty, is known as the "Garden Island. Candidates should have experience differentiating instruction to work effectively with a range of learners, demonstrate a passion for teaching Science and demonstrate effective classroom management strategies. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in teaching Science at the middle school level, hold a minimum of a B.S. in Math, Science or Math/Science Education. Additional responsibilities include serving as an advisor, full participation in the life of the school, leading a club or other initiative, and/or coaching.
