Job Summary: The high school Math Teacher fulfills the mission of St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Teacher provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.
Provide the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth toward a successful future as needed. Plan for instruction with logically sequenced objectives, based on adopted curriculum and submitted according to the local school policy. Use effective instructional methods/models according to professional standard practice. Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
Support and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school and support and adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese. Support instructional planning as requested. Demonstrate a willingness to respond to individual learning needs as needed. Has working knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and motivate and engage students in the learning process as needed.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and certified as Secondary Mathematics Instructor.
Candidate must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCBED.
Preferred: Ability to teach Pre AP and AP courses
Experience with instructional technology in classroom
Experience in high school extracurricular activities, including athletics
