SAINT PETER CATHEDRAL SCHOOL, located in Wilmington, Delaware seeks qualified applicants for the position of PRINCIPAL beginning July 1, 2020. Supported by the Cathedral of St. Peter Parish and the Daughters of Charity, this “School with a Heart in the Heart of the City” has been welcoming generations of families into a warm and nurturing environment for 190 years. Saint Peter Cathedral School serves approximately 100 students of varying religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The twenty dedicated and committed faculty and staff members have the unique privilege of molding and transforming lives on a daily basis. They collaborate with the Principal with the goal of enriching the students with a firm sense of self-esteem as well as a strong academic foundation so that each one is prepared to meet challenges of life and learning that await them beyond the door of the school. Marketing the school to prospective families is important in its advancement work to grow enrollment. The Principal position requires a school leader who is a faith-filled Catholic with high expectations for learners and the commitment to engage families and the broader community in investing in the future of inner-city students with great promise.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
live as a practicing Catholic
have a minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level, with at least three years in Catholic school (administrative experience preferred) and demonstrate a commitment to continued growth of Catholic education
hold an advanced degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed., Ed.D., Ph.D.) from an accredited institution
hold or be eligible for Delaware or Maryland licensing/certification
