BB&N is seeking an Upper School Woodworking Teacher. Primary responsibilities include teaching four courses to students in grades 9-12, including up to four sections of woodworking. Woodworking courses focus on both wood sculpture and furniture-making. The Woodworking Teacher collaborates closely with colleagues in the Fine Arts Department and attends regular department and faculty meetings. Additional responsibilities will vary according to current program need and new initiatives, including assigned extra-curricular duties including the possibility of advising, extra-curricular clubs and/or coaching.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in woodworking instruction. The candidate should also have experience managing a wood studio. A Bachelor’s degree is required and Master’s degree is preferred with at least two years of full-time teaching experience.
