St. Thomas the Apostle School (STA), a Blue-Ribbon school, located in Old Bridge, NJ, currently serves approximately 415 students in Grades Pre-Kindergarten 3 - 8, is seeking a Principal with a strong Catholic identity, commitment to growth, collaborative spirit, and strategic vision who will embrace the aggressive, fast paced and excitement of a long-established school partnering with parents and the parish community. STA has approximately 30 professional staff members and aides.
5 – 7 years’ experience, at least 3 years in a Catholic school
Must be a practicing, Catholic with a commitment to the principles of Catholic education
Possess a master’s degree in educational administration or be eligible to obtain one.
Willing to submit to a background check
Must have or be willing to complete a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children program
Must have the ability to relate well with children, parents, teachers, and the community at large
Continue the traditions and culture of St. Thomas the Apostle School and Parish
Work collaboratively with the Pastor, School Advisory Board and Home School Association to lead the school positively towards its mission.
Professional development of teachers -- consulting with teachers regarding instructional practices, classroom management, and school procedures.
Supervise all aspects of the school's operation, including facilities maintenance/operations, food service, transportation, fund-raising, enrollment and tuition
Represent the school to all its constituents, including faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and business communities
Collaborates effectively with the Office of Schools in the Diocese of Metuchen
Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills
Coordinates a strong marketing plan to promote the school throughout the community
Efficiently works with faculty, staff and parents to create and implement effective crisis management plans
Additional Salary Information: Salary will be competitive and is negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience. Position is available for the 2020-21 school year and will be open until filled.
