Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Upper School Science/Physics Teacher. The position requires a passion for teaching and learning; enthusiasm for working with students, families and colleagues; flexibility and a sense of humor. Qualified applicants will have a strong understanding of current trends in science education; a modern approach to science instruction and assessment; excellent content knowledge; a commitment to professional learning; and proven success in working in a collaborative environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Four sections, to include 11th grade physics and physics related electives
Eagerness to work with students on an individual basis, as need be
Commitment to innovative instructional and assessment practices
Ability to keep accurate grades, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Advise a club or activity
Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development, including collaborative work for planning and alignment
Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings
Attend community events throughout the school year
Bachelor’s degree in Physics or related discipline is required
Master’s degree preferred
3 years of teaching experience in high school science is preferred
Working knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards and current pedagogical trends in science education
Experience in teaching science via inquiry-based approaches
