St. Raphael Catholic School, located alongside Tampa Bay, just north of downtown St. Petersburg, is seeking a principal to begin the 2020-2021 academic year on July 1, 2020. St. Raphael School, where “Christ is the cornerstone,” is a place where faith, academics, and community come together. We empower all to strive for academic excellence, provide faith-filled service to others, reflect Catholic values, and become responsible leaders of the Church and community. The ideal applicant will be a faith leader as well as the academic leader of our parish Catholic school serving just over 200 students in PreK4 through eighth grades.
The successful candidate will be a spiritually motivated, practicing Roman Catholic, with excellent communication skills, a future-oriented academic vision, knowledge of current educational methods, and proven leadership skills. Applicants should have a minimum of five years teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. Experience in school administration is preferable. If the candidate holds a Masters in any other area of education, the candidate must have at least eighteen semester hours of graduate work in administration, supervision and curriculum development and be willing to complete a Master’s program in the related field within 2 years of initial employment. The candidate must successfully complete a Level II background screening.
