Foote School seeks an experienced History/Humanities teacher to join its faculty in the fall of 2020. Foote serves 455 students in Kindergarten through ninth grade.
The successful candidate will be a nurturing, flexible person who has a passion for the Humanities and social justice and equity, and who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of children. He or she should be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and peers and to employ a variety of instructional techniques to engage young learners. The successful candidate will have a commitment to our school’s mission, demonstrating teamwork, collaboration and service to the school community.

Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field
Minimum 2-4 years teaching experience
Experience in classroom instruction
Experience with project-based and experiential learning
An understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students ages 11 to 15
An interest in serving as an advisor to a group of middle school students
Experience designing and implementing authentic assessment tools
An ability to work with colleagues in the department and the school community to deliver a thoughtful and innovative Humanities experience
Experience using technology to enhance instruction and to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Strong personal and interpersonal skills
