The Department of Physician Assistant Studies in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a passionate and energetic faculty member to join our innovative Physician Assistant program. We are seeking a full-time, ongoing faculty position in Physician Assistant Studies, beginning Summer 2020. The successful candidate will: collaborate in curriculum development for clinical and didactic courses, including active and problem-based learning; participate in competency-based assessment and course evaluation; participate in the student admissions process; assist with pursuing clinical sites; participate in activities for securing provisional and continuing accreditation including the self-study and site visit; participate in inter-professional activities; teach within the program, including didactic, clinical, and capstone courses; and perform other duties as assigned. College service, professional engagement; student advising and mentorship, and a commitment to student success are expected.
Education/Training: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related degree. Candidates who hold the PA degree must have current certification by NCCPA and current state license. Candidates who hold the MD degree, current license is preferred. Experience: exceptional communication skills and prior experience in PA Education. Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience in family practice, internal medicine, surgery or emergency medicine, but all specialties are welcome. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
